Anne Catherine Gutzman, age 75, of Freeport, Ohio died at 9:18p.m. on 3/17/17 in Trinity West Hospital, Steubenville, Ohio due to complications from open heart surgery.

She was born July 27, 1941 in Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, daughter of the late James Peter Gardner and Cecilia Johanna Sutter Gardner.

Anne was a 1958 graduate of Strongsville High School. She worked in retail at Sears for 30 years. She loved her flowers, gardening, and playing cards. She was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church of Freeport.

 On August 19, 1961 she married Guy George Gutzman. Also surviving are two sons: Ronald (Carolyn) Gutzman of Strongsville, and Guy (Beany) Gutzman Jr of Strongsville; a daughter Cheryl Gutzman of Freeport; two brothers James P. Gardner III of Strongsville, and Michael Gardner of Homerville ; a sister Mary Louise Ode-Viala of Strongsville; two granddaughters Candice Gutzman of Strongsville and Erin King of North Ridgeville, a grandson Anthony King of Willoughby; and cousin and best friend Harriett Zawie of Parma.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine (Mark) Miller.

Following Anne’s wishes she was cremated and graveside service and burial will follow at a later date at Settlement Cemetery in Shelby, Ohio.
