Delmar L. Ferguson, age 85 of 65525 Larrick Ridge Road, Cambridge, Ohio went home to be with the Lord at 6:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018 in Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Belmont County, Ohio.
Born July 10, 1932 in Stock Township, Harrison County, he was a son of the late Howard Leslie Ferguson and Marguerita Marie Stevens Ferguson.
Delmar was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the army from 1949 to 1953. He was a heavy equipment operator for forty years with the Ohio Operating Engineers Local #18 of Akron, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Old Washington United Methodist Church. Delmar was pastor at Irish Ridge United Methodist Church, and formerly served as pastor of Middlebourne and Kippling churches. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His wife, Erma Louise Price Ferguson, went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2016. They were married June 28, 1950.
Surviving are three sons and a daughter: Byron Lee (Bonnie) Ferguson of Cambridge, Darcy Alan (Kim) Ferguson of Ashville, Gordon Jay (Anne) Ferguson of Zanesville, and Teresa Kay Ferguson of Dennison; two brothers: Harold Ferguson of Stillwater, and Kenneth Ferguson of West Virginia; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Joy Ferguson in 1951, a son, Rodney Lynn Ferguson in 2008, an infant sister, and a brother John Leslie Ferguson.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22 and from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 23 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 South High Street, Freeport where services will be held beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 with Rev. Kirk Gable officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport.
