Ronald Wayne Dunlap, age 78, of Fisher Road, Freeport died Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Ohio State Medical Center, Columbus after a brief illness.

He was born May 16, 1939 in Londonderry, Guernsey County, Ohio. Ronald was a son of the late Wilbert Francis Dunlap and Vera Mae Kappell Dunlap.

He was a 1957 graduate of Freeport High School and was an active thespian participating in the school plays.

Ronald worked for 39 years for Joy Manufacturing / Howden-Buffalo Company of New Philadelphia where he was a machinist.

He was a social member of the New Philadelphia VFW, United Steel Workers of America Local #2737 of New Philadelphia. He enjoyed feeding his birds, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was also an avid bowler for many years.

His wife of 57 years, Anna Marie Pedersen Dunlap, survives. They were married July 30, 1960.

Also surviving are a son, Ronald (Shawnee) Dunlap II of Freeport, a daughter Deborah (Larry) Wisintainer of Dover, four grandchildren: Richard (Jodee) Dunlap, Kyle (Shelley) Dunlap, Zoey Wisintainer, and Seth Wisintainer; two step-grandchildren: Mindy (Scott) Parsons, Jerrod (Becca) LeMasters; two great-grandchildren: MacKinzee Dunlap and Eve Dunlap; four step-greatgrandchildren: Madison Monte, Allysa Parsons, Brodey Parsons, and Brayden Parsons; a brother, Gene Dunlap of Alliance; three sisters: Alice Reichman of New Philadelphia, Arlene (Wayne) Fritter of Louisville, and Elaine Mace of Freeport; a brother-in-law John (Wilma) Pedersen of Dennison, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Emil and Ida Howell Pedersen; three brothers-in-law Dave Mace, Dave Reichman, and Roy Pedersen.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 25 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26 also in Koch Funeral Home. Pastor Jim McConnell will officiate and burial will follow in Moorefield Cemetery.
