Betty Jane (Tait) Denney

Betty Jane Denney, age 81, died on the morning of July 4, 2018 at her home near Piedmont.  She was born June 29, 1937 in Lima Ohio to the late Edward Tait and Ruth Vought Cochran. She graduated from Big Walnut High School in 1955and was an office manager for area trucking companies.

She loved living close to Piedmont Lake where she enjoyed boating and fishing. She was so good at fishing that she held the record for largest Muskie in the Ohio, twice.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Harold E. Denney on December 17, 2012 and her son Jeffrey W. Gill.

Surviving are her daughters Dianna L. Gill of Canal Winchester and Jacqueline Kay Reid of Marysville; step children Jerri Reffitt of Columbus, Thomas (Barbara) Denney of Logan and Craig (Sandra) Denney of Delaware; brothers Richard A. (Paula) Cochran of Sunbury and Dale G. Cochran of Langesville; a son-in-law Rob Erwin of Raymond; grandchildren Jessica (Shaun) Mosedale of Pickerington, Ryan E. (Amanda) Erwin and Austin L. Erwin both of Marysville and step grandchildren Samuel, Charlie and Katie Reffitt.

Honoring Betty's wishes there will be no calling hours or service. Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 52171 National Rd. Suite 1, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950.

Koch Funeral Home, Freeport was honored to handle the arrangements for Betty's family.
