Charles Harold "Jumbo" Shepherd, age 86, of 69660 Skull Fork Road, Freeport died at 1:23 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015.

He was born April 5, 1929 in Guernsey County, Ohio, a son of the late Clarence Fredrick Shepherd and Helen Beatrice Tinsman Shepherd.

Jumbo worked for the Operating Engineer Union and worked for several area companies. He was also a farmer.

He was a member of the Kirkwood Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star at Barnesville. He enjoyed playing music.

Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Jeannette D. Bunfill Shepherd; a daughter, Carol Grove of Coshocton; a daughter-in-law, Penny Shepherd of Salesville;  six grandchildren: David Harding, Kim Harding, Danielle Nikole Shepherd, Kolton Lane Shepherd, Alexis Kayleigh Shepherd, and Makenzie Harper Shepherd; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger Ray (Sam) Shepherd of Flushing; and a sister, Sharon (Gary) Jones of Trinway.

He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Charles Shepherd on April 18, 2014; a sister, Alice Bragg; and four brothers: Harry Vernard Shepherd, Jim Shepherd, Donnie Shepherd, and Pete Shepherd.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 13 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14 in the funeral home with Pastor Rodney West officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport. Masonic services will be held on Friday, November 13, at 6:30 p.m.
