Dolores May "Dolly" Hanson, age 75 of Antrim, went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2015 in SEORMC in Cambridge.
She was born March 16, 1940 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Emma Lucas.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William F. Hanson; one sister, Teresa Ramnytz; three daughters: Kim (Paul) Cooper, Kristy (Ed) Voorhies, Theresa (Jordy) Mitchell; and one son, Bill (fiancée Rose) Hanson; a daughter-in-law, Judy Hanson; eight grandchildren who she loved greatly, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Hanson, two grandsons, a brother, a sister, and a nephew.
Dolly was a strong spirit that cherished her family members and all of the many memories that they provided. She built her foundation on the hardships that stood in her path, all the while holding her loved ones close. Dolores was a bold soul with her words, always willing to cook one too many things for social gatherings. She was creative, playful, and found ways to close the gaps of differences that would otherwise separate individuals of the family. Among a taste for shopping and puzzle books, she enjoyed spending time at the lake, relishing the beauties that this world provided. She was a woman that never left an embrace unrecognized, and held fast to her stubborn will, inevitably making the final decision to go home, leaving us all with hearts forced to accept, but never forgetting the parts she has touched.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Antrim Mennonite Church with Pastors Eli Schrock and Pastor Frederick Helmuth officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. also in the Antrim Mennonite Church on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Burial will follow in Antrim Presbyterian Cemetery.
