Edward E Taggart

Edward E. Taggart, age 83, of Mineral City, passed away September 4, 2023. He was born August 12, 1940 in Harrison County, Ohio; a son of the late Samuel and Margaret (Howell) Taggart. Ed resided in the Mineral City area most of his life.

He was a 1958 graduate of Freeport High School and was retired from the U. S. Ceramic Tile Co. in East Sparta. He was a member of Huff Run, the Mineral City Historical Society, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed Stock Car Races, NASCAR Races, and had served as a mechanic for local racers, Donald Nicholson and Jerry Pikna.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Alveretta (Nichols) Taggart, who died on June 12, 1996, and two brothers, Bill Taggart and Bob Taggart.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Randy Sears, three step-children and eight step-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Friends may call at Koch Funeral Home, 216 S. High Street, Freeport on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (two hours prior to the service). The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Peggy Milliken officiating. Burial will follow in Union Township Cemetery in Morristown.
