James Alan Cost

James Alan Cost, age 78, of 81788 Lovers Lane, Tippecanoe, Ohio died at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Community Hospice Truman House, New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Born March 8, 1940 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, he was a son of the late Clarence Edgar Cost and Audrey Stringer Cost.

He graduated from Warren Consolidated High School in 1959.

Jim retired in 2002 from Smurfit Stone in New Philadelphia where he was a quality manager.

He was a former member of the Dover and Cadiz Eagles and he enjoyed fishing.

His wife of 57 years, Judith Ethel Cost died June 8, 2018. They were married September 3, 1960.

Surviving are a son and two daughters: James Alan Cost, Jr. of Bolivar, and Jodie Lee (John) Walton of Tippecanoe, and Janet Elizabeth Pavick of New Philadelphia; eight grandchildren: John Walton, Matthew (Nikki) Walton, Joshua Squires, Jessica (Dakota) Murphy, Sarah (Luke) Pulley, Trenton Cost, Kate (Brandon) Maurer, and Ryan Pavick; five-great-grandchildren: Riley Walton, Noah Walton,  Lucas Walton, Cora Pulley, and Brice Murphy; and a brother, Donald Clarence Cost of Denver, Colorado.

Following Jim's wishes he will be cremated and a private family services will be held.
