Jeannette Donnabelle (Bunfill) Shepherd

Jeannette Donnabelle Bunfill Shepherd, age 80, of Freeport died in the home of her daughter-in-law at 6:25 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2022.

She was born November 28, 1941 in Sewellsville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Margie Viola Hunt Bunfill and Donald Willis Bunfill.

Jeannette graduated in 1958 from Barnesville High School, Barnesville, Ohio, worked at the Freeport Press for several years and retired in 2004 from the Ohio Department of Transportation where she was a supervisor for twenty years.

She was a former member of the Barnesville Eastern Star #206, White Shrine, and Lakeland Senior Citizens. She enjoyed reading.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Charles "Jumbo" Shepherd who died November 10, 2015 and her amazing son, Danny "Batman" Shepherd who died on April 18, 2014.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Penny (Chip) Chance of Salesville; four grandchildren: Danielle Nikole Shepherd, Kolton Lane Shepherd, Alexis Kayleigh Shepherd, and Makenzie Harper Shepherd; a brother, Mancil Douglas Bunfill of Fairview; step-daughter, Carol Grove of Coshocton; two step-grandchildren: Kim Harding of Coshocton and David (Janelle) Harding;  three step-great-grandchildren: Jessica (Jeff) Wyatt, Michelle Harding, and Morgan Bridges; two step-great-great-grandchildren: Jeffery Wyatt and Jackson Wyatt, all of Arkansas, numerous nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters in-laws.

Visitation will be 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport. Services will be held Monday, January 24 at 1:00 p.m. also in the funeral home with Pastor David Koch officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport.
