Jewell Dean Smith Wolfe, age (90) of 31995 Clendening Lake Road, Freeport died at 6:05 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026 in Wayne County Care Center, Wooster, Ohio where she had been a resident.
She was born Sept 29, 1935 in Beggs, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma; a daughter of the late Clyde V. Smith and Ruby L. Boatner Smith
Jewell was a member of the Minksville Church of Christ. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Ocle M. Wolfe, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
Surviving are two children: Fred (Regina) Murray of Lodi and Pam (Stanley) Toole of Flushing; three step-children: Donna (Dennis) Friedman, Terry Wolfe, and Jerry (Shelly) Wolfe, daughter-in-law, Susan Murray; step-daughter-in-law, Cora Wolfe; seven grandchildren: Brent (Kari) Murray, Melissa (Kevin) Stoudmire, Alicia (Mark) Belmont, Amanda (Brad) Gasser, Jessica (Dusty) Riedel, Jerimaha (Melissa) Murray, and Jennifer Caldwell; fifteen great grandchildren: Hailee, Mitchell, Tyson, Owen, Olivia, Macey, Maddex, Kenzie, Josie, Zion, Eva, Morgan, Lehanna, Coalt, and Kolton; several great-great grandchildren; two brothers: Stanley Smith and Roger (Peggy) Smith; two sisters: Dorean Adkins and Connie Hershberger, and many other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Murray; a step-son, Roger Wolfe; a grandson, Zach Murray; a granddaughter, Allison Murray; three brothers: Thurman Smith, Don Smith, Bob Smith; and two sisters: Pat Engle, Nancy Kain,
A private service will be held in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport on Monday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Main officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmont Union Cemetery.
