Obituary

Vivian Jean Hall Tedrick, age 87, of Deck Road, Freeport, went to be with her Lord and Savior, 3:46 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in the Cardinal Place Assisted Living in Cambridge, Ohio.

Vivian was born on October 2, 1938 in Freeport to Boyd and Hazel Kent Hall. She was a 1956 graduate of Madison High School.

Vivian lived a life of love and devotion to her family and her grandkids. She never knew a stranger and her door was always open to offer a good home cooked meal and conversation. She had a special gift for hospitality and being available to help others, these were the things she lived for ~~ others.

Vivian achieved her lifetime goal of being a nurse in the early 70's and began working for Dr. Ben Wherley in Dover for her entire career, then the practice got passed to his son Andy Wherley where she continued to work. She retired in 2012 at the age of 74. She enjoyed her career and again just loved helping all the patients that came through the office and they loved her.

Vivian is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Robert Tedrick, a great Grandson Maddox Locke and a grandson Jonathan Canton She is also preceded by her brothers and sisters, Virgil Hall, Harley Hall, Agness Larrick, Marjory Davidson, Boyd Hall, Kathleen Pittis, and Valeria Rice.

She is survived by her children: Roger Tedrick (Ruth) of Gahanna and Bobbie Canton (John) of Mineral City; four grandchildren: Stephanie Cooley, Stacey Locke, Samantha Canton and Sarah Canton; six great-grandchildren: Callie, Kaylin, Sadie, Maisey, Taylor, and Morrigan.

She is also survived by a very dear friend, Mel "Skip" Groh. They shared many home cooked meals, love, and companionship the last four years.

We would like to say thank you to so many who were there for Vivian in her last days. Special thanks go to Cardinal Place, Rhonda Powell, Valeria K. Rice and of course hospice who lovingly cared for her to the end.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026 in the Presbyterian Church, 104 Pine Street, Freeport with Pastor David Bryan officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Sunset View Cemetery, Londonderry Township, Ohio.
