Carroll Bruce “Curly” Bargar, age 74, of 136 Main Street, Deersville died at 4:44 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehab in Baltic, Ohio.
He was born October 22, 1946, a son of the late John Roger Bargar and Margaret Louise Poulson Bargar.
Curly was a 1964 graduate of Lakeland High School and a US Army Veteran. He was a mechanic for Consol Coal Company in Cadiz for several years and retired from DFG Excavating in Jewett where he operated heavy equipment. He was a member of the Deersville Volunteer Fire Department for years and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved helping on the farm, especially raking hay.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Kay Neilson Bargar. She died December 10, 2005. They were married in June of 1969.
Surviving is a son, Timothy Bruce (Jenny) Bargar of Deersville; a brother, Donald (Beverly) Bargar of Holloway; a niece, Dawn Bargar of Holloway; and cousins, Jay and Jane Adams of Deersville.
Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport. A service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Koch officiating. Burial will follow in Patterson Cemetery in Deersville.
