Donna June (Farmer) McBurney

Donna J. McBurney, age 79, of Piedmont and Akron passed away August 4, 2023 with family by her side in Akron. She was born in Akron, Ohio on September 24, 1943 to Henry and Glenna (Arthur) Farmer.

She enjoyed writing for The Outreach newspaper, attending church, participating in the clothes closet in Freeport, planting flowers, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Gerry; a son, Greg; siblings, Norma, David, Don, Lynne.

She will be sadly missed by her sons, Gordon and Grant; 6 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, George (Denise) Farmer and Sandee Schoenly; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, 1889 Vernon Odom Blvd., Akron. The funeral service will follow at 11 a. m. at the church.

Another visitation will be held on Monday, August 14th from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Freeport Church on the Rock, 223 S. High Street, Freeport, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the church with Pastor Jim Hauser officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda, Ohio.
