Douglas Edward Sharp

Douglas Edward Sharp, age 67, of Piedmont died at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in WVU Hospital, Wheeling, WV.

Born October 16, 1954 in Barnesville, Ohio; he was a son of the late Ethel E. Garrett and Edward Arigoni.

He formerly lived in Mt. Vernon and drove truck for a Columbus construction site hauling heavy equipment for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Hammons Sharp, a brother, Gregory Sharp,

Surviving are two daughters: Amy Lynn Sharp of Mt. Vernon and Lisa Marie Sharp of Springfield; three grandchildren: Austin, Aaliyah and Selena of Mt. Vernon; siblings: Duane “Tom” (Lori) Sharp of Piedmont with whom he resided, Edward (Cheryl) Arigoni of St. Clairsville, Melvin (Mary) Arigoni of Hendrysburg, Rick (Marcia) Sharp of Mt. Vernon, Kenneth (Buddy) Sharp of Mt. Vernon, Jeff (Verna) Sharp of Barnesville, Gwendolyn (Jim) Lab of Barnesville, Okreita “Cricket” (Jeff) Hart of Barnesville, Joyce Sharp of Barnesville, Kathy (Rick) Lynn of Barnesville, Diane Tyler of Monkes Corner SC, Candy (Greg) Basil of Wellsburg WV, Tracy Arigoni of Holloway, Joseph Arigoni of Holloway, Edward (Wendy) Arigoni of Piedmont, Cindy (Ed) Jones of Sandsprings OK, and Tammy (Ryan) May of Cadiz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport, Ohio 43973 with Pastor Dave Koch officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery in Kirkwood Township, Belmont County, Ohio (near Hendrysburg).
