Helen Louise Wilson Lake, age 93 of Winter Haven, Florida, formerly of Londonderry, Ohio died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Brookdale Senior Living Facility in Winter Haven, Florida.
She was born December 10, 1928 in Moorefield Township, Harrison County, Ohio, a daughter of the late William Eldridge Wilson and Lena D. Arnold Wilson.
She was a 1946 graduate of Freeport High School. Helen retired in 1989 after working twenty-six years for Champion Spark Plug in Cambridge, Ohio.
She was a member of the Londonderry United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star #319 of Freeport, Winter Haven Quilters and Lake Wales Quilters. She loved to quilt.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Maurice Lloyd Lake, who died March 22, 2001. They were married June 28, 1947.
Surviving are three sons and a daughter: Larry A. (Debra) Lake of Sarasota, Florida, Terry R. Lake of Londonderry, Mark W. Lake of Londonderry, and LuAnn (James) Hurley of Columbus; a brother, Gary Wilson of Rockingham, North Carolina; ten grandchildren: Misty, Andrew, Charles, Terry, Kelby, Bobbi Sue, Kati, Will, Telena, and Brittany; fifteen great-grandchildren: Grant, Bailey, Jocelyn, Jenny, Rylie, Emi, Ellie, John, Leeland, Thalia, Kyland, Seth, Kiah, Brendon, and Lailah; two step-grandchildren: Jeff Funk and Tanya Pacanas; and a great-great grandson, Kaden.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by two brothers: Duane A. Wilson and Raymond E. Wilson; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Lake.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2022 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport, Ohio. An Eastern Star Service by the Freeport Eastern Star #319 will begin following visitation at 12:30 p.m. Helen’s funeral service will begin immediately following the Eastern Star service officiated by The Reverend David Hefling. Burial will follow in Sunset View Cemetery, Londonderry Township, Guernsey County, Ohio.
