Judith Lorraine Huston, age 81, of Cadiz died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 26, 2023.
Born August 2, 1941, in Martins Ferry, Belmont County, Ohio a daughter of the late William Paul Rogers and Stella Lucille Rogers Rogers.
Judy was a 1959 graduate of Freeport High School and graduated Bliss Business College in Columbus with an associate degree in business.
She went to work as a secretary for Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus and also worked at First National Bank in Cadiz.
She married the love of her life, James Leroy Huston, on November 24, 1960. He was killed in an auto accident on February 6, 1971 on Route 7 North of Clarington, Ohio.
After her husband’s death, she moved to Montana and was very proud of owning a small ranch where she had a couple horses, several milk cows, and some chickens. She also worked in a grocery store, restaurant and bar while living in Montana. She moved back to Ohio a few years after her girls graduated from high school to be close to her parents. She worked for the Freeport Press and Norm’s Gas Station in Piedmont.
Judy loved her wordsearch books, was a computer nut, and loved reading her Bible. She was a devoted daughter, housewife, mom, sister, and aunt.
Surviving are two daughters: Lisa Huston of Massillon and Joanna Lynn (Dan) Jaicks of Bonneau, South Carolina; a grandson Daniel Jaicks; two sisters: Linda (Joe) Fogle of Cadiz and Cindy (Bernell) Mavin of Canton; brothers-in-law: Richard Huston and Terry Huston; sister-in-law, Marie Myers; and several nieces and nephews - all who loved her dearly.
Private viewing, services, and burial were held. Burial was in Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport beside her husband, the love of her life.
