Mary Margaret (Hamilton) Hart

Mary Margaret Hamilton Hart, age 84, of 405 East Bank Street, Uhrichsville, formerly of Freeport died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, July 12, 2021.

She was born March 28, 1937 in Belmont County; a daughter of the late Edna Louise Leasure Hamilton and Allen Clarke Hamilton.

Margaret was a 1955 graduate of Freeport High School. She worked for Marsh Electric in Cambridge before becoming the secretary for Lakeland High School where she worked for almost thirty-five years before retiring in 1995. 

She was a member of the Freeport United Methodist Church.

Her husband of 51 years, Charles Harry Hart died January 25, 2007. They were married August 6, 1955.

Surviving are six children, nineteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren: Gary Hart of Provo, Utah and his four children: Amber, Zach, Crystal, and Crimson; Jeff Hart of Uhrichsville and his four children: Heidi who has a grandson, Zaylar, Clarke, Kim who has two children: Mia and Zach, and Jeffrey who has a daughter, Nora; Doug and Becky Hart of Gnadenhutten and their three children: Sarah, Hannah, and Jacob; Kelly Hart of Freeport and his three children: Maryann, Abigail, and Michael; Patricia and Matthew Little of Carrol and their three children: Braden, Sidney, and Jackson; Michele and Troy Huston of Uhrichsville and their three children: Cael, Reily, and Ethan;  three sisters: Nancy Crawford of Parkersburg, Barb Hamilton of Kentucky, and Sharon Hamilton of Dennison; and a brother, James Hamilton of Woodsfield.

Margaret was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Teresa Hart and a great-granddaughter, Ariel Stout.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2021 also in the funeral home with Pastor David Koch officiating.

Following Margaret’s wishes, cremation will take place following the service. Burial will be in Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport at the convenience of the family.
