Rachel Cecelia (Bertini) Anderson

Rachel Cecelia Bertini Anderson, age 86 of Baltic, formerly of 30625 Clendening Lake Road, Freeport died in Hennis Care Center, Sunday, December 15, 2019.

Born February 7, 1933 in Freeport, Ohio, a daughter of the late Rudolph Mark Bertini and Esther Ann Eaves Bertini.

She attended school at Freeport and moved to Montana and worked as a cook in a café and ranch. She loved cooking, baking, quilting, farming, and gardening.

In December 23, 1963 she married Carlos Smith Anderson, Sr. in California. He died June 28, 1974. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by an infant son, William Ambrose Anderson, three sons: Carlos Smith Anderson, Jr., Pete Lawson Bertini, and Charles “Tom” Bertini; a daughter, Mary E. Johnson; four brothers: Donald Bertini, Joseph Bertini, Thomas Bertini, and Virgil Bertini; and two sisters: Rosalee Ferrell and Eleanor Santee.

Surviving are three daughters: Toni Louisa Marie Bertini of Strasburg, Ora (Cory) Mord of Minnnesota, Lauren Rae Anderson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a daughter-in-law, Beth Batten Bertini of Freeport; a brother, Rudolph Mark Bertini, Jr. of Colorado; ten grandchildren: John Karl Ferrell, Nicole Kahrig, Rachel Taylor, Virgil Taylor, Larry Smith, Lindi Campbell, Eryn M. Galloway, Duel D. Mord, Cole W. Mord, and Julianna M. Tingler; and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service and burial will be held in Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport with Pastor David Koch officiating at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17.
