Ross Franklin Best, Jr., age 80, of 907 North 1st Street, Dennison died at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 in Aultman Hospital, Canton, Ohio.
Born in June 29, 1938 in Dennison, Ohio to the late Ross Franklin Best, Sr. and Helen Christine Coverdale.
Ross was a United States Army veteran, serving eleven years from 1955 to 1966 stationed in Germany. He worked for Briggs and Turvis of Dennison where he was a welder rebuilding railroad cars and retired with a medical disability. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, making fishing lures, box calls for turkey hunting, and wooden crafts.
His wife, Sherry Lynn Best, died January 1, 2017. Surviving are three sons: Ross F. Best III of Uhrichsville, David Edward (Theresa) Best of Dennison, and Bryan Keith Best of Uhrichsville; twenty three grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and a sister, Betty (Harold) Romig of Tippecanoe.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son Chris Best, a daughter Molly Baker; and three siblings: Dorothy Page, Tom Best, and James Best.
Following Ross’s wishes cremation will take place without visitation or services.
